VARNISHING

The job of finishing wood work is a thankless task - most of the sanding I did by hand (my orbital sander was useful on the larger areas but too cumbersome for the bulk of the work). Varnishing is a slow laborious task, especially were louvered doors are involved - Most surfaces required four coats !

Sanding complete - It would have been sacrilege to hide the grain on these panels with paint

I think the end result was well worth the effort ! The Varnish really brings out the grain and color of the wood paneling which has been varnished using clear satin - The louvered doors are finished in Antique Pine
